I figure we should go ahead and start a thread devoted to our pedalboards, for people to come and see, ask questions, and learn some stuff. Just think it would work better than having all the info scattered across a bunch of threads.

I’ll kick it off with my bass board. This is actually the least EHX I’ve ever had on it! I intend to solve that quite soon.
It is a little messy since I had been having some power issues and had to mess with all my daisy chains.

2880 hardware sequencer questions: what are people using?

hello i am a new 2880 user so keep that in mind. i want to use it as follows: to play prerecorded parts at will being triggered by a midi master pitchfactor -timefactor-sequencer-2880. i know you can only record one loop at a time but what if that “loop” was split into small bits that would be played or triggered by a sequencer’s (spp)? so i could have many back ground parts in one loop. they would all be at different starting points and stopping points. first can this be done? has anyone done this? if so what sequencers are people using to do this with? i would be looking for a hardware basic sequencer without all the bells and such.

Bass Micro Synth Question

HI , I have the Bass Micro Synth pedal and I would like to ask if anyone could help me with it . The issue I am having is that depending on the way it is adjusted , I will have a note clip or drop off prematurely when I would like for it to ring out . I have a EH White Finger in front of it in the hopes that it would sustain the note but I must not have it set up right either . There are so many setting senerios , I have played around with different settings but have not yet found the right combination . Any help would br greatly appreciated ! Thanks inadvance . Vince .

Poly Chorus / Poly Flange same thing or not?

OK, I’m trying to collect whatever EHX gear i can get my hands on, but trying to get things i need before i got extra fun stuff.

now i need to know if the Poly Chorus, and the Poly Flange is the same thing just renamed?

if it is i don’t need to get the Flange right away , seeing i have the Stereo Poly Chorus all ready.

from the pics I’ve seen they both have the same controls exactly, just that two of the knobs are in a diff location.

can anyone confirm this?

Heres how I did it: LBM + SMMH in 3 second echo with an oscillating reverb sound looping E and G chords.

Then I did arpeggios in 300 ms + mod with a really deep pitch shift.

Then overtop of that I did 1 sec + reverse mode lead with the polyphase on.

You can do also do ring mod in reverse echo mode. Crank the decay, turn the delay time down to about 8:30, and play with the repeats knob.

If you play with the settings in reverse echo you can also get a really trashy almost bit crushed tone. Because the decay works like a fast multi tap of each long reverse delay you do, it can get really freaky bowie.

Here’s a soundclip using SMMH’s chorus-and-delay-played-as-a-looped-riff overlaid with some freaky Reverse Echo FX.

First two bars are the loop played forward,
then I reverse the loop by turning the Decay know full counter-clockwise,
then I play around with the Filter knob to get a kind of parametric EQ/wah effect,
then I play with the Delay knob to slow down and speed up the loop,
and then I finish by returning the loop to its original form by turning the Decay knob full clockwise.

I hope this gives you some idea of what you are looking for

Ok, so I just realized something really cool. If you want to have pre delays and reverse reverb- here is a cool trick

1. Plug in the Stereo Memory Man as you normally would in mono
2. Record a chord part of a riff.
3. Unplug the output cable
4. plug a patch cable into the mono output jack, then plug the other side into the right input on the other side
5. Now plug your output cable into the right output
6. you now have your left channel jumpered into your right channel
7. now reverse your loop
8. now choose a delay setting you like, and notice it is now affecting your loop.
9. hold down record for the duration of the loop
10. unreverse the loop

Jumpering the left onto the right channel has some other cool effects. You can get even weirder effects having double modulated delay or double reverse delay (some of the echoes will play in forward)

Oooh, here is another nice setting:

pseudo-swells

set to multi-tap 1 sec or 3 sec
blend all the way up
decay all the way up
filter at where you like it
repeats all the way up
delay controls the length of the swell-set it low then go from there- less delay time = shorter swell

Because you are just having echos that are going very fast and getting louder, it sounds swell like, but with a tremolo attack

ooh, here is another trick.

Because the tap tempo normalizes the pitch of a loop, you can quickly go up or down an octave hands free and back again with the preset knob.

Have your delay time somewhere other than 12 o clock in loop mode. Save that setting as a preset.

Now record a loop. Lightly tap the preset button and it will pitch shift to whatever setting you have.

Now you can overdub.

When you tap tempo, it returns you to your original pitch
