The FREEZE captures a note or chord which you can play over, weaving textures of sounds. Here, Mike Matthews, Electro-Harmonix founder and president, kicks off a quick, video, guided tour of this truly original new effect.
Electro-Harmonix DRM 16 (Digital Rhythm Machine)
In the late 1970s Electro-Harmonix was one of the early pioneers in the exploration of digital drum potential. When EH released the DRM 16, they opened the door to a portable groove machine with the perfect sense of time. From Disco to Funk as well as a slick shuffle groove, the DRM 16 delivered real drum synthesis to every musician.

Electro-Harmonix Space Drum
The Space Drum, another EH gem from the 1970s, was a pure synthesis design with the ability to select and modify your frequency band performance. It took its trigger both from the built in pad or through an external trigger source. Control the sensitivity of your drum stroke giving a unique tonal attack and decay that revolved around your start and stop selections. The first practical electronic drum that every player could afford.

The first electronic musician oriented demo of the V256 Vocoder with Reflex Tune. Using a keyboard as the trigger, the definition and real-time control possibilities allow for the ultimate in creative vocal manipulation.
Mitch runs through the musical flexibility that really sets EH pedals apart. From the Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker to the award winning Cathedral Stereo Reverb, each pedal delivers powerful control parameters that allow you to sculpt the perfect sound.

Anna Bulbrook, from The Airborne Toxic Event, integrates her unique viola talent with the Electro-Harmonix HOG. Slithering harmonic registers and intervals meld with enveloped layers to create a sonic foundation that is both mesmerizing and totally transitional from beginning to end.
In 1968, the LPB1 Linear Power Booster spawned the genesis of Electro-Harmonix. Designed and built by hand, the LPB1 helped usher in an era of overdrive that dramatically changed the face of Rock and Roll.

When checking in with friends at Electro-Harmonix to hear more about the new FREEZE pedal, guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, talks about being in the studio with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
“We’re in the studio everyday, writing. Just yesterday, I had a breakthrough with one of our songs. I clicked on the CATHEDRAL REVERB, and all of my problems went away! It was incredible!! Thank you EH!!!“
